Memorial On Display For Fallen Officer Amy Caprio At Perry Paw Dog Park
PERRY HALL, Md. (WJZ) -- A memorial for Officer Amy Caprio is now on display at the Perry Paw Dog Park.
It's in the Honeygo Run Regional Park, and Saturday, the community hosted a family fun day in honor of the fallen officer.
Caprio responded to a burglary call when she confronted a group of suspects in a Jeep.
The driver, Dawnta Harris, crashed into Caprio and she died from her injuries.
Police say it's all about keeping Caprio's memory alive.
"Every day that people come here and they bring their dogs here, they'll be able to see that and think about Amy and the relationship she had with her own dog," Baltimore County Police Chief Melissa Hyatt said. "She was really a dog lover so this is particularly special."
