State Police Helicopter Hoists Stranded Mariner In Baltimore

BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- Maryland State police rescued a man stranded on a sand bar near Baltimore City on Sunday.

Around 1:30 p.m. The Coast Guard called State Police for help with the rescue.

The mariner ran his pleasure boat on to a sand bar.

After trying multiple ways to rescue him, it was decided to hoist him.

Crews lifted him 90 feet into the helicopter.

He was not injured and flown back to Martin State Airport, where he was reunited with his family.
