WASHINGTON (WJZ) — A Maryland man is facing charges for allegedly setting a police vehicle on fire outside of the Supreme Court in Washington D.C.

Cody Tarner, 22, of Hagerstown, Maryland, was identify by Metro Police on Friday.

Police say he was burned during the incident and remains hospitalized.

He is charged with federal destruction of property and other counts.

Tarner has not yet appeared in court.

    A federal arson charge is a minimum of 5 to a max of 20 years. He has no criminal record in Maryland, but he could have one in another state. Considering how stupid it was to do it where he did it, he may be a few bricks shy of a load.

    King Julian and Chiss Farmer that young man happens to be my nephew. He is mentally disturbed and our family has tried unsuccessfully to get him the help he needs. You do not know him nor do you know anything about him so back off!
