BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Election Day is exactly four weeks away, but ballots are already being counted in Baltimore and Anne Arundel County.

Work is underway to count the surge of mail-in and absentee ballots due to the coronavirus pandemic. More than one million Marylanders are expected to fill out mail-in ballots this year.

Harford, Howard and Carroll counties are expected to begin counting within the next two weeks.
