Maryland Lawmakers Announce $1.6M Grant To Make Rail Lines Safer For Pedestrians
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Maryland's federal lawmakers announced Wednesday a $1.6 million grant to make rail lines safer for pedestrians.
The Federal Transit Administration is giving $675,000 of the $1.6 million grant to mitigate risks on rail systems in Baltimore.
It'll upgrade technology to alert train operators when someone is on the tracks, among other safety features.
