BALTIMORE (WJZ) — BGE is once again warning about an increase in scams involving the COVID-19 pandemic.

BGE said it has seen a sharp rise in the number of customers reporting getting robocalls that their power is going to be cut off unless they pay immediately.

In the first week of February, BGE got more than 160 scam complaints.

The company reminded customers it will never make a single notification of a service interruption and will never ask customers to pay with gift cards.
