The store is located near The Avenue in Hampden. The building looks like a church upon first glance, but walk in and you’ll find clothes instead of pews.

The motto for this consignment shop is, “Where you don’t have to spend a fortune to look like a million!” The store, located in the Mt. Washington Village area of the city, is a fun place to shop. According to store owner Mary Anne Barker, the shop has high-end designer items for less than retail prices. Items are usually barely worn and sometimes still have the price tags on them. Customers can choose from today’s designer items. The shop has been in business for five years selling clothing, shoes and handbags and additional retail items. La Chic features an annual fashion show. In two weeks, the store will be moving to another location in Mt. Washington Village at 1501 Sulgrave Avenue (corner of Sulgrave and Newbury). Barker says her store brings back the old Baltimore customer service.
