Baltimore Teen May Have Fallen From Plane

BALTIMORE (WJZ) --

There's a new twist in the investigation into what happened to a Baltimore teenager who went missing in North Carolina.  Now it's believed the 16-year-old fell from a plane bound for Boston.

Kelly McPherson has more on the investigation and the first reaction from the teen's father.

The condition of a 16-year-old boy's body found in a Boston suburb last week shocked even investigators.

"Significantly mutilated.  It was dead; clearly deceased," an official said.

Massachusetts investigators are looking into a theory that Delvonte Tisdale--who had moved to North Carolina with his dad--stowed away in a plane's wheelwell and when the flight arrived in Boston, he fell out of the plane.

"We have no conclusive evidence of that.  I understand it's a story on the Internet but we don't know," the family's pastor said.

The Tisdales spoke out from their Charlotte home.

"I still can't believe that my son isn't with us," said Anthony Tisdale, Delvonte's father.  "I said, `Hey, man, good night.'  And that was the last time I saw my son."

That was Sunday.  The body was found Monday evening.  Family learned of the death on Thursday.

The mystery of how he ended up 900 miles away continues.

"I have no idea," Tisdale said.

Tisdale still has family members in Baltimore.  The relatives didn't want to go on camera because they say the details of his death are still so suspicious.

The family lived in Baltimore for 13 years before relocating to North Carolina so Delvonte could participate in ROTC.

"Being here such a short time and losing my son is extremely difficult," Tisdale said.

Tisdale lived with his father and at least one sibling.  WJZ couldn't contact his mother.

An autopsy was unable to determine how the teen died.
