I just wanted to send my congrats out to former Baltimore Oriole Roberto Alomar for being elected to the baseball hall of fame.  There have been a lot of great players to put on the Orange and Black, but arguably Alomar was the the best.  He was the best defensive second baseman I ever saw, and offensively he could do it all.  He was a true five tool player.  Obviously he was only here three seasons so he’s not a true Oriole but he may be the last Oriole to go in for a while.  Rafael Palmiero wont be going in any time soon, and no one in recent Orioles history deserves a sniff (Albert Belle?  haha).  I also want to say it’s about time and congrats to pitcher Bert Blyleven for being elected as well.

Roberto Alomar really did deserve the Hall of Fame and as a Toronto Blue Jays fans I’m so glad they put him in this year, especially with a close to unanimous vote. If the only thing stopping him was the spitting incident, which it seemed to be, then there should have been no reason for them to keep him out. I was also happy to see the steroid guys not receiving too much of the vote because I think there is a great difference between those guys and guys like Alomar with character issues.
