EASTON, Md. (AP) — A Talbot County Circuit Court judge has sentenced a 53-year-old woman to 20 years in prison for the death of an infant in her care.

Gail Dobson of Trappe was convicted in August of second-degree murder in the death of 9-month-old Trevor James Ulrich.

Police were called to Dobson’s home on Sept. 2, 2009 after she said the infant was having trouble breathing. He died the next day at Children’s Hospital in Washington.

The D.C. medical examiner ruled the child’s death a homicide.

I was incarcerated with mrs dobson and I never saw her angry. I don’t think she has a mean bone in her body! She isn’t capable of such evil she’s a god fearing woman. She is saddened by the infants death. Her sentencing is overkill! People have been convicted of first degree murder and rape and not given such a harsh sentence.
