MANCHESTER, Md. (AP) — Fire officials say a home in Manchester has been destroyed by fire.
The blaze was reported about 8:15 a.m. Wednesday on Park Avenue by a passer-by. Nine fire companies battled the blaze.
The owner of the house, Shelley DeVaux, tells the Carroll County Times that she smelled smoke and scrambled to get her three children, pets and her boyfriend out of the home. There were no injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.

i live up the street from there and you could see the smoke from miles away the road was also closed til 12:30 wich sucks.
So sorry to hear your road was closed for a couple hours Doug. I am sure your neighbor, whose house was destroyed, is very sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you.
Doug, it sucks to be you. Aren’t you just lucky to be sitting in your house? How cold hearted you are; certainly not a neighbor someone can count on in a time of crisis – at least not with your attitude. SHAME!
3 firefighters where almost hit last week at a house fire before they closed the road. Safety first!
