Suspect Arrested In Stolen Sculptures Case

BETHESDA, Md. (AP) -- Montgomery County police have arrested a man accused of stealing five bronze sculptures from a Bethesda museum garden.

Police found 27-year-old Daniel Conticchio of Washington sleeping in his car in a parking lot in Bethesda on Thursday.

Police have a warrant charging him with theft and other offenses.

Officers say Conticchio sold the damaged sculptures, which were stolen on Monday from the Phillip Ratner Museum of Art, to a recycling business in Rockville. An employee of the business became aware that the sculptures were stolen and called police.
