Police Chase From Md. Ends When Car Hits Tree

SELBYVILLE, Del. (AP) -- Authorities say a police chase that began on U.S. 50 in Maryland ended when the car hit a tree outside a home in Selbyville in Delaware.

Donnell Johnson, 25, has been charged by Selbyville police with disregarding a police signal and numerous traffic violations. He is being held on $11,460 cash bond and faces charges in Maryland.

Authorities state a Maryland state trooper tried to stop Johnson's car for speeding Tuesday about 4 p.m. Police say Johnson failed to stop and a high-speed chase followed.
