Woman Killed In Crash On I-695 In Md.

PARKVILLE, Md. (AP) –Maryland State Police say a woman was killed when her car crashed into the back of a semi tractor-trailer on icy Interstate 695.

It happened Thursday about 10:50 a.m. near the Harford road underpass in Parkville. Troopers say a car driven by Lindsay Anne Freeman, 24, of Towson ran into the back of a tractor-trailer operated by Randy Lee Olson of Alexandria, Minn. After impact, Freeman’s car spun and stopped on the ramp.

Freeman was taken to Shock Trauma, where she died.

Troopers say several other crashes occurred in that area Thursday morning.

I drove by that scene shortly after the accident & there is no reason why that should have occurred. The woman’s car was almost shredded from the top down, it was sunny warm & no ice or snow whatsoever was on the Beltway. Driver distraction or lack of common sense cause this woman to lose her life. Hey Kids, this isn’t video games, she ain’t coming back. Dead is dead so be alert when you drive & be responsible.

      Barnyard,
This woman who lost her life happens to be a friend and co-worker of mine. Your comment is ABSOLUTELY insulting and rude and maybe YOU should have been in that car. This wasn’t a matter of distraction, it was a young girl, with a loving husband, family, and friends driving to work! Accidents happen and in this case she was trying to avoid another accident. Maybe if you weren’t so “distracted” rubber necking you would have noticed the others as well. I think you owe an awful lot of RESPECT and APOLOGIES to the people who lost Lindsey and who will see your SICK comment. I’ve NEVER wished harm on someone in my life but I’m wishing it on you right now!

I totally agree with Barnyard. SLOW DOWN…GIVE YOURSELF ROOM…AND PAY ATTENTION. None of which she did. I695 is a core-road for Maryland. There was no ice on it….Another thing….I hope she doesn’t have offsring already. Because evidently herself and her friends are too oblivious to learning from their mistakes.

Carter, if there was no ICE then why exactly were there 6-8 other accidents in the same EXACT spot? Read more of the news story. Again, someone else who has no respect for human life. REGARDLESS of the factors, she lost her life. The most precious thing ever given to us.

How can you say these things about someone you don’t even know? or about ANYONE?? heartless and dumb. You have no clue why or how this accident happened, it could have anything, maybe something flew into the windshield, maybe there was black ice (obviously there was some kind of ice) maybe there was something wrong with the car. The comment about ‘offsring” is really dumb – hopefully since you can’t spell it you can’t do it, either
