16-Year-Old Charged With Robbing Cab Driver

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) — Frederick Police say a 16-year-old boy has been charged with robbing a cab driver.

It happened Saturday about 7:40 p.m. when the cabbie picked up the youth in Walkersville. The youth asked to be taken to a supermarket in Frederick. When the driver arrived at the store, the youth took a shotgun out of a duffel bag and demanded his money.

The driver turned over some money, and the youth fled on foot.

On Wednesday, police arrested the youth and charged him as an adult with robbery and other offenses.

It will just be a matter of time before Child Protective Services demand that he be charged as a juvenile. I hope that some judge doesn’t give in to their demands. The kid used a brandished a weapon in the commission of a crime. That is an adult felony. We will now hear how he is such a good boy and he never was in trouble. Baloney!
