WESTMINSTER, Md. (AP) — The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office say a deputy and another driver were taken to a hospital after a collision on Route 140.

Authorities say Sgt. Brad Brown was traveling west on Route 140 approaching the intersection of Tyrone Road Thursday about 3:30 p.m. when his car hit an SUV operated by Deborah Donlan, 61, of Westminster.

Brown and Donlan were taken to Carroll Hospital Center as a precaution. Deputies say charges are pending the outcome of an investigation.

    Sergeant Brad Brown, a twenty-year veteran of the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office was traveling westbound along Route 140 approaching the intersection of Tyrone Road when his car collided with a 2006 Jeep Liberty operated by Deborah Elaine Donlan, aged 61 of Westminster. According to witness statements, Donlan failed to yield to oncoming traffic as she turned the Jeep from southbound Tyrone Road onto eastbound Route 140, crossing in front of the deputy’s car.
