Man Who Stole Copper Cables From U.S. Sentenced
BALTIMORE (AP) -- A man who stole $340,000 worth of copper cables and other government property has been sentenced to 15 months in prison.
Fifty-five-year-old Levon Smith of Annapolis was sentenced on Friday. He had pleaded guilty in October.
Prosecutors say the cables and other equipment were sold for about $22,000 to a recycling company.
Prosecutors say Smith worked for Hunt Valley-based AAI Corporation, which installs the cables and other parts in unmanned aerial drones and other equipment.
