New Market, Md., Fire Company Gets $83K Grant
NEW MARKET, Md. (AP) -- The New Market District Volunteer Fire Co. says it has received a federal grant of more than $83,000.
Deputy Fire Chief Ben Nalborczyk said Friday the department will have to go price-shopping.
He says the money, which came from a firefighters' grant program, will be used to buy self-contained breathing apparatus, radios, hoses, nozzles and a thermal imaging camera. He says some of the equipment will replace outdated gear.
