Baltimore Residents Urged To Secure Trash

BALTIMORE (AP) — Public works officials are urging Baltimore residents to make sure their trash cans are secure, as high winds are predicted.

With winds up to 20 to 30 mph predicted for Friday, officials remind residents that trash from loosely tied or ripped bags create airborne hazards and get into streams and the harbor.

Residents are urged to make sure all loose objects on their property are secured or brought inside. Residents are reminded that city law requires the use of trash cans for debris.

The whole city is trash. People have no pride in where they live or in themselves.

  2. Karen says:

The city dos not enface the trash laws , so what difference does it make.

  3. Paul Micelli says:

Bring back two trash collecting days and you won’t have this problem. Besides, what are the rats going to eat!!

  4. vanhopkins says:

My Trash is always secured but i keep getting citations from others throwing trash in front of my gargage I posted signs, apparently people cant read, what to do? what to do?

Move, ………Obviously you’re living among low class fat ass people who have no respect for themselves much less others.

I LIVE IN HARFORD COUNTY AND PAY 76.50 EVERY OTHER MONTH FOR TRASH PICK-UP. MAYBE THE CITY SHOULD CONSIDER THIS TYPE OF REVENUE INSTEAD OF PEOPLE LOOSING JOBS. WHO KNOWS PICKING UP TRASH 2X A WEEK JUST MIGHT KEEP THE TRASH PROBLEM DOWN. OF COURSE THEY WOULD NEED TO RE-CYCLE.

I live in the county too and you are a 100% correct. Sadly the people who live in the city that do not care would never be willing to have a cleaner environment…bwhahaha

  7. derrickman says:

Joanne,……Just what do you get for your taxes in Republican run Harford county? Paying for trash pickup is a basic right of homeowners for their taxes.

    1. deltasweetiepi says:

Not a right you pay for it one way or the other, the same with water. Montgomery county you pay the homeowners association for trash pickup service…water is paid to the county.

  8. JOANNE says:

good question, every place i’ve lived in, it was always included in my taxes. not here……

  9. Jeanne Clarke says:

If the city doesn’t want trash, the city can start collecting it at least two days a week. Many residents just move their trash in front of someone else’s home, making them responsible for it. Perhaps this would stop – if the city really wanted it to – if there were more trash pickup days. That is probably why there are no trash receptacles at the end of every city block – they would be filled up within a day and not collected.

  10. Ram says:

The city does collect twice a week – once for recyclables and once for non-recyclables. How hard can it be to separate bottles, cans and paper from the rest of the waste?
