Carroll County Health Department To Become Tobacco-Free

WESTMINSTER, Md. (AP) — The Carroll County Health Department campus is getting ready to go tobacco free.

The department will ban smoke and smokeless tobacco on its property, including in personal vehicles, on April 20. A committee made up of smokers and nonsmokers worked on the issue.

The policy is intended to promote and protect the health of the clients and workers.

Health education director Kim Spangler says it’s long overdue for the Health Department to go tobacco free.

NOW ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS BAN ALCOHOL, NO MORE DRUNKS, EVERY DRINKERS HEALTH SHOULD IMPROVE IMMENSELY WHICH SHOULD REDUCE HEALTH INSURANCE, NO DWI ‘S DEATHS, REDUCTION IN COURT CASES INVOLVING ALCOHOL. PROBABLY NEVER HAPPEN AS TOO MUCH MONEY IS INVOLVED. JUST THINK HOW NICE IT WOULD BE, ALCOHOL FREE SOCIETY.

I don’t feel anyone can tell you what you can and cannot do within your own property, vehicle or otherwise. And the US tried that before, it didn’t end well. Look up Chicago’s history.

(Non-smoker by the way. I just feel that we go through all these lessons in tolerance and equality but the first chance to throw stones at smokers we will-I understand no smoking in restaurants, but the no smoking in bars is really stupid and should be repealed.)
