Md. Woman Charged With Calling In Bomb Threat
WESTMINSTER, Md. (AP) -- A Westminster woman has been charged with calling in a bomb threat to the Carroll County Emergency Operations Center.
Maryland State Police say Serena Sue Jones, 30, called the emergency center Monday morning with a false report of a bomb in the Westminster courthouse. The call led authorities to evacuate and search the district and circuit court buildings and shut down area roads.
Jones was arrested at a relative's house Monday night and was to appear before a district court commissioner on a charge of making a false statement about a destructive device.
It was not immediately clear if Jones had a lawyer.
