Aide: Schaefer Could Leave Hospital In A Day Or 2

BALTIMORE (AP) -- A longtime aide to former governor William Donald Schaefer says she's hopeful he will be able to leave the hospital "in a day or two."

Schaefer, 89, was taken to St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore with a slight case of pneumonia last week.

Lainy LeBow-Sachs said Sunday that Schaefer's health was essentially the same as on Saturday, which was a significant improvement over when he was first admitted Thursday night.

Schaefer is a former four-term mayor of Baltimore and two-term governor.
