New Information Released In February Catonsville Gas Station Shooting

CATONSVILLE, Md. (WJZ)—Violent and frightening. Two men walk up to a gas station employee and shoot him in the head. Now police release new information on that investigation.

Andrea Fujii has more on the video detectives want you to see.

It’s not easy to watch. A Carroll Fuel station employee doing his job is shot in the head and dragged inside the tiny shop. The two attackers get away with some money from the register, and they’re still out there evading police.

“It’s so terrible out here.  It’s normal,” said Ronald.

Some customers remember the crime that happened there in February.  Police are hoping that the surveillance video will jog some memories and bring forward some witnesses.

“We are asking for the public’s help in identifying the two suspects who are responsible for this crime,” said Det. Cathy Batton, Baltimore County Police.

Police believe the two men are between 17 and 25 years old.

What you can’t see in the clip is when one man shoots the clerk in the head. It’s jarring for customers at the Catonsville gas station to hear.

“The customers are laughing and joking with each other,” Gerome said. “The guy will come out and talk to you and everything, so it seems peaceful enough to me.”

“It makes you be aware of stuff more,” Wesley Ross said. “It’s really sad it can’t be like the old days and people look out for one another.”

The clerk survived the gunshot wound to the head.  Now the two suspects face attempted murder and robbery charges.

If you have any information, you can contact Baltimore County Police.

If you’re gonna have surveillance cameras, why wouldn’t it be HD and shouldn’t it be set up so that it reads a criminals face.. C’mon man!!!

    • J

I agree. Every camera image that you see on TV from any surveillance camera is grainy and worthless. They need to move into 21st century and start installing better cameras.

  • Not going to take it

Cowards! All cowards! Hope these “homies” are caught and dealt with in jail.

    Eye for an eye.
Shoot them in the head. Maybe they will live, maybe not. Same chances as this poor fellow had.

  • williejoe

The “Brothers “ain’t gonna like this. They be 17-to 25? That describes all of Baltimore.

Go back to Dundalk with that racist attitude.

….how many times have I seen the same type of video played where one or two hooded up young criminlas come in and shoot and kill some poor guy just tryin to work and make a dollar the right way only to be shot by someone that will kill you for what? 20 or 50 bucks….WHY?

  • J

This is becoming the norm. Thugs just don’t rob you anymore, they shoot you and rob you. All for some small amount of money. It bothers me when you hear about people getting shot and robbed of a cell phone or someone getting killed for 5-10 bucks they had on them. Most people would just give that to an armed robber, but noooo, these cowards now of days just treat life like it’s nothing and kill the person they are robbing.

Thugs beware. If you come up on me and try to rob me, you will see Jesus. I am licensed to carry a weapon and refuse to be a victim. I’m glad the guy survived, now it’s time for justice. These cowardly punks must be caught.

    • John

That’s part of the larger problem. The bad guys are armed, the good guys are not. By the time the police arrive your shot in the head. Yet, MD wants harder gun laws? Law or no law, the bad guys will be armed. Period.

    • AT

One day I’ll have my CCW…when the people that overturned DC’s CCW laws do the same in Maryland…one can only hope.

  • eeeshhh

not as much though…and we have manners…and we have culture…and we have decency…and we have values…and we speak properly
