BALTIMORE (AP) — Earth Day is Friday, and the environment will be on the minds of many this week.

Baltimore is holding its eighth Baltimore Green Week.

Educational workshops, lectures and events are scheduled all week on issues such as climate change, sustainable agriculture and water conservation.

Towson University will hold its third annual environmental conference on Monday. The conference addresses the impact of individuals and communities and actions that can be taken to create a more sustainable world.

And in Washington, a number of events are planned, including an Earth Day Party for the Planet at the National Zoo on Friday.

Visitors can recycle cell phones and accessories and learn about other eco-friendly steps they can take.
