Tornado Confirmed In Maryland

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. (WJZ)—The death toll still inches higher from the powerful tornadoes that wiped out parts of Alabama. Two days later, Southern states are still trying to assess the damage. At least 329 people were killed, and hundreds still aren't accounted for. President Obama visited the tornado zone to bring comfort to the victims.

It is confirmed an EF-5 tornado hit Alabama. That's the worst that state has seen since 1932 when more than 330 people died.

While we didn't experience devastation anywhere near like they are down south, we've now confirmed a tornado did, in fact, touch down in Maryland.

Kai Jackson has the dramatic video one man caught as the twister drop out of the sky, right in front of him.

The violent weather that rolled through Maryland this week left its mark. A member of the Air Force captured video of the damage as it happened in Prince George's County.

It was a frightening scene in this home video as a twister roars through Prince George's County. Directly in its path was Andrews Air Force Base, and the person behind the camera capturing every frame of the destruction on video was Air Force airman Mike Musiowski, 21.

"Sirens came off on base at least 25-30 minutes before the tornado actually happened," Musiowski said.

Musiowski calls himself a storm chaser, and the storm he chased on Wednesday packed a wallop. It knocked down trees and blew debris all around the area.

"I know it's not the best idea, but how often do you get a twister in D.C." Musiowski said. "I just wanted to be a part of it and get it captured."

That same storm system damaged homes and property south of Washington, D.C. in Shenandoah County, Va.

Musiowksi says despite the danger, he wouldn't hesitate to chase another one.

"This was my first tornado I've ever seen and I hope it's not the last," Musiowski said. "I had a good time."

There were no reports of injuries after the tornado near Andrews Air Force Base.
