Man Sentenced To Time Served On Burning Charge
HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- A man has been sentenced to time served for his role in a fire at his ex-girlfriend's home.
Jeffrey Lynn Myerly, 52, was also ordered to pay more than $5,000 in restitution at sentencing last week. Myerly had pleaded in April to second-degree malicious burning and malicious destruction of property worth more than $500.
The State Fire Marshal's office says the fire broke out of Dec. 11 on Antietam Drive. Fire officials say Myerly went into the home, damaged property, placed combustible materials on a stove top and turned on the burner.
