Body Of Missing Kayaker Found In Md. Pond

DELMAR, Md. (AP) — Maryland Natural Resources Police have found the body of a Fruitland man who went missing after his kayak capsized in a Wicomico County pond.

Police say the body of James Cain Jr., 42, was pulled from the waters of Leonard’s Mill Pond in Delmar Friday morning.

Cain was reported missing Thursday afternoon when his kayak capsized. NRP’s underwater operations unit and local fire and rescue companies searched using side scan sonar, scuba divers and bar drags.

The body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore. NRP’s Special Operations Division is investigating the accident.
