Md. Woman Shot Last Week Dies; New Charges Eyed

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) — Authorities say a Hagerstown woman shot in the head last week has died and new charges against her former boyfriend are possible.

A hospital spokeswoman told The (Hagerstown) Herald-Mail that Heather Harris, 37, died Wednesday.

Randy McPeak, 43, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., is charged with shooting Harris inside her home Friday in violation of a court order barring him from contact with her.

Washington County State’s Attorney Charles Strong tells The Associated Press that his office is reviewing the evidence. He says he’s considering filing additional charges or taking the case to a grand jury.
