Storms Knock Out Power In Calvert County

BALTIMORE (AP) -- A utility spokeswoman says thunderstorms have knocked out electricity for about 3,200 customers in Calvert County.

Rachael Lighty of Baltimore Gas & Electric said Friday night that there was severe damage from thunderstorms in the county.

She said the utility experienced "some significant system damage." Crews were on the scene and were expected to work
throughout the night to restore power. Lighty said it would likely be early Saturday before the lights are back on.

A Calvert County sheriff's official said there were "trees down all over the place" in the northern part of the county after the evening storms rolled through.
