ANNAPOLIS JUNCTION, Md. (AP) — Astrum Solar says Constellation Energy has agreed to invest an undisclosed amount in the home solar power installer.

Annapolis Junction-based Astrum says the equity investment will support future growth and expansion.

Constellation says residential is the fastest growing segment of the solar power industry and Astrum’s business complements the company’s commercial solar business as well as its residential solar offerings through BGE Home.

Astrum Solar serves homeowners and small businesses in Delaware; Maryland; Massachusetts; Michigan; New Jersey; New York; Ohio; Pennsylvania; Virginia; Washington, D.C.; and West Virginia.

Terms of the investment were not disclosed.

A smart move on the part of BGE, since the ultimate goal of every homeowner is to escape the grasp of BGE’s power grid. This way, they will keep their fingers in the pie and continue to drain us financially.
