Comptroller To Announce Violations For Fiscal Year
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Comptroller Peter Franchot will be announcing alcohol, tobacco and motor fuel violations for fiscal year 2011 in Maryland.
The comptroller will join members of his field enforcement division on Wednesday in Annapolis to talk about tax losses to the state. Franchot also will discuss more than $1.8 million in sales and use taxes that his division has collected as a result of enforcement efforts.
The comptroller's office administers and collects state taxes, including ones on motor vehicle fuel, tobacco and excise taxes on beer, wine and liquor.
