Police To Search Sewers For Clues In Disappearance
MACON, Ga. (AP) -- Macon police say they will search the city's storm drainage system near the apartment complex where a missing 27-year-old Mercer Law School graduate lives.
Maj. Charles Stone said in a statement the Macon city engineer's office has joined in the investigation of Lauren Giddings' disappearance. WMAZ-TV reports that police believe the engineer's office can provide valuable assistance as police search for evidence.
Police have said a woman's body was found outside an apartment building where Giddings lived, but they have not yet released the identity of the body.
Giddings is a recent graduate of Mercer University's Walter F. George School of Law who had been preparing to take the bar exam. She is a native of Laurel, Md., and a graduate of Agnes Scott College in Decatur.
