Delegate Clagett Retiring At End Of Term

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- Maryland state Delegate Galen Clagett says he's retiring after his term ends in 2014.

The 69-year-old Democrat told The Frederick News-Post on Friday that he hasn't ruled out seeking another office but says it wouldn't be in the state House or Senate. He says some of his friends in Annapolis have urged him to run for state comptroller.

Clagett has served as a state delegate since 2003. He was a Frederick County commissioner from 1978 to 1986.

Clagett heads a Frederick-based property-management firm and previously worked as a public school teacher and administrator.
