About 20 Cats Killed At Constitution Park

CUMBERLAND, Md. (AP) — Officials say about 20 cats died excruciating deaths when they were poisoned recently at Constitution Park.

Allegany County shelter manager Karl Brubaker tells the Cumberland Times-News that the poison put out for the cats on the sidewalk led to painful deaths. The poisonings cut the cat colony population to about eight animals.

Cumberland Mayor Brian Grim called the incident horrific.

    This is COMPLETELY unacceptable!

Who put out the poison? They could not be caught and put up for adoption? This is very cruel way to solve a problem. Someone should rethink their policies on strays. They didn’t ask to be born and certainly not to be in a loving home. It pains me to think about how they might have suffered. We come to that park now and then. Have picnic lunches and enjoy the solitude. Never have I been bothered by a cat.

horrible, i hope they catch who did this!! Try to fingerprint the plates! We go to the park, the kids love when we get a glimpse of these feral cats! It was thought to be a safe place for these cats to hang out. What a terrible person to do sometime like this!!

Who ever is responsible for this horrific act of animal cruelty is extremely dangerous. The person responsible did not think or maybe they did that a person walking a dog may come across it and the dog may have eaten some, or birds looking for food. I am an animal lover and think that creep deserves some poison for himself, if the cats were a bother find another park to visit or call the

Humane society and let them set traps. By taking matters into your own hands and so cruelly killing these cats makes you an all American CREEP!

I agree, get this psychopath off the streets before they start harming people.

I also agree, find this sicko and give him/her the max sentence before children get sick by the poison or any other pets.
