Fire Breaks Out At Silver Spring Hospital
SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) -- Authorities are investigating the cause of a two-alarm fire at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring.
Montgomery County Fire Chief Scott Graham says the blaze broke out in a mechanical shaft on the first floor of the hospital about 11:15 p.m. Thursday. Graham says the fire spread through the duct work to the third floor.
The fire sent smoke into the labor and delivery ward, and several patients were moved to a safe area.
No injuries have been reported.
