WASHINGTON (AP) — The White House says President Barack Obama will speak later this month at the unveiling of the new Martin Luther King Jr. memorial in Washington.

The new memorial to the civil rights leader sits on the National Mall near the Tidal Basin, between monuments honoring Presidents Abraham Lincoln and Thomas Jefferson.

Obama will speak Aug. 28. The official website for the memorial says the president will be part of a ceremony capping a week of events in tribute to King.

Why do you insist on typing with caps lock? No one takes your kind seriously.

  3. Diane says:

Wow Sylvan, you are a very angry person. You need to learn to let go and remember that George Bush put us in this mess. When you make a mess of your own finances, you don’t recover over night, so why would you think that we as a nation would recover over night. Also, I don’t see you telling congress to take a major pay cut so that we can bring down our dept deficit.

    1. Tom says:

@Diane – I don’t think he knows his hand from his foot. Best to let him be.

  4. Madman says:

Diane….you must live under a rock. Bush has been out of office for over two years. Get a life and put the blame where it belongs on OBAMA.

    1. Tom says:

Problems this huge don’t get solved overnight.

    2. Tom says:

@Madman – You need to get a clue. Typical conservative, blame the president. The issue lies in Congress.

  5. Madman says:

@Tom- The man has no leadership skills. He came into office with absolutely no experience. While in the Senate he voted “present” most of the time. He must show some type of leadership to the country and to Congress. He cannot not keep blaming Bush for his short comings.
By the way I voted for him.
