The Baltimore Ravens have swung and missed repeatedly this offseason when it comes to finding a veteran receiver to start opposite Anquan Boldin. They missed on Malcolm Floyd and Derrick Mason. They passed on Jerrico Cotchery. Now we hear they may not be interested in Buffalo Bills WR Lee Evans unless he’s released. So what does all this mean? It means simply that guys like Torrey Smith, Tandon Doss, David Reed and company have a huge opportunity this preseason to turn some heads. Personally I think this situation is still in flux. It’s far from over and I think they will eventually bring in a veteran. In the meantime though, you might as well see what you’ve got in house.
