Memorial Being Held For Former Md. First Lady
SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) -- A memorial service is being held for former Maryland first lady Mathilde "Mimi" Lee.
The service is Monday at St. John the Baptist Church in Silver Spring.
Lee died Aug. 9 at the age of 91.
She became first lady when her husband, Blair Lee III, took over as acting governor in 1977 because Gov. Marvin Mandel faced racketeering charges. Blair Lee ran for the governorship but lost the Democratic primary.
