BALTIMORE (WJZ) — This energy saver has tips for your next road trip.

Denise Koch reports there are ways to save money and energy if you are heading out on the road on vacation.

First, accelerate and brake your vehicle gently. Quick starts and stops can decrease mileage by up to 12 percent.

Don’t drive aggressively. It can lower your mileage by 33 percent.

Finally, use cruise control whenever possible.
