BALTIMORE (AP) — Baltimore police say an off-duty security guard foiled an armed robbery attempt when he shot his assailant.

Police say the man told officers early Saturday morning that a man pointed a gun at him during a robbery attempt in Northwest Baltimore. The off-duty guard drew his gun, and the assailant opened fire. The guard returned fire, wounding his attacker in the shoulder.

Police located the 20-year-old suspect a short time later. He’s being treated for a gunshot wound to the shoulder.

The security guard was not injured. Police continue to investigate the shooting.

  1. Common Sense says:

But it’s illegal for someone under 21 to possess a handgun in this state. How in the world did the suspect get a gun???

Another good example that you cant legislate your way out of moral and social decline issues.

You are kidding, right?? How do 16 year olds in the state get a gun??? Good ole mommy and daddy maybe???

  2. Wheres common sense when you need it says:

The question will be why the guard had a gun? You know the 20 year olds mommy will be on the news sayin how he didn’t deserve this and he is a good kid. Before this is said and done it will be the guards fault. The only problem I have with it is that the guard needs to put some time in at the range. One shot, One KILL! Being wounded only gives this 20 year old sum bag a second chance!

Now the punk has bragging rights! He’s survived a gunshot. The guard needs to become a better shot!
