Constellation: Nuke Plants Operating After Quake

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Constellation Energy says it activated the lowest of four emergency levels at its Calvert Cliffs nuclear power plant following the East Coast quake, but the plant is still operating at 100 percent capacity.

Constellation Energy says increased monitoring and inspections are being conducted at the southern Maryland nuclear power plant, but both reactors are stable and operating at 100 percent.

The company says seismic activity was not registered on monitoring equipment at its Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station in Scriba, N.Y. or its R.E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant in Ontario, N.Y. and the plants are continuing to operate.
