Cruise Ship Speeds To Baltimore Ahead Of Irene
BALTIMORE (AP) -- Carnival Cruise Lines says one of its ships is speeding back to Baltimore ahead of Hurricane Irene. Carnival says the Carnival Pride is well ahead of the storm and has increased speed to arrive off the Mid-Atlantic coast by late Friday.
The ship was scheduled to end the voyage on Sunday, when Irene is expected to pass the Maryland coast.
The cruise line says it is continuing to monitor the weather and the storm's track and will terminate the voyage early if necessary.
