Powell To Kick Off Baltimore Grand Prix Race

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Former Secretary of State Colin Powell will serve as the honorary grand marshal for the inaugural running of the Baltimore Grand Prix.

Powell will give drivers the command to "start their engines" for the IndyCar race in downtown Baltimore on Sunday afternoon.

Tens of thousands of people have turned out over the weekend for races for the IndyCar and American Le Mans series races. The 2-mile, 13-turn course runs on city streets past the Inner Harbor and around Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
