Naval Academy Student Sentenced To 6 Months For Rape

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — A U.S. Naval Academy student has been sentenced to six months confinement and dismissal from the Navy for raping a fellow student.

A military judge sentenced Patrick Edmond, 20, on Thursday.

Prosecutors said Edmond raped his classmate in her dorm room in October. Edmond, of Jackson, Miss., had testified that the sex was consensual.

He also was found guilty of making a false statement to investigators.

    I don’t know about all this but what I do know was that they were found having sex in a room @Bancroft hall. Women have too much power in these kinds of cases where they can sway the pendulum & the guys career & life are ruined. I also understand this women has a history of trouble & a checkered past.

    and i also know that there are always a percentage of mids who are really socially awkward… in fact some have never dated before going there. there should be some kind of psych eval before theiy complete their first year to make sure this kind of thing NEVER happens. it would be a good thing to know the guy will be able to handle the stress BEFORE the taxpayer foots the $250,000 per year price tag on them.
