Police Step Up Patrols In Suitland After Assaults

SUITLAND, Md. (AP) — Prince George’s County police are beefing up patrols near the Suitland Metro station after two women were assaulted in recent weeks.

Police say both incidents occurred in the 4700-block of Silver Hill Road during the early morning hours. Authorities are investigating whether they are connected.

In the first case, on Sept. 27, police say a man with a gun grabbed a woman, led her across the street and sexually assaulted her behind an abandoned building.

Police say that at on Tuesday, a man with a gun tried to pull a woman across the street but she struggled and managed to get away.
