Well, Tony LaCava doesn’t. After meeting with club owner Peter Angelos, LaCava was offered the general manager’s job of the Baltimore Orioles. He turned it down.

LaCava told the Baltimore Sun’s Dan Connolly he will be staying with the Toronto Blue Jays where he is the assistant general manager.

LaCava stated that he loves the Blue Jays too much to leave them and that the Orioles were very classy in their pursuit of his services.

That’s nice.

We are now into November and the Baltimore Orioles do not have a GM. They’ll have new hats ( which I’m for, BTW ), but they have no one to run the front office.

Baltimore interviewed Diamondbacks executive Jerry Dipoto for the job, but he took the GM job with the Angels.

At one time, top-flight baseball people would have been beating down the doors of The Warehouse trying to become the person that runs the Orioles.

As you know, times have changed. And not for the better.

Instead of being aggressive–for once–and getting their business done quickly and letting the fans know that there is a plan, the Orioles are lagging behind.

It’s embarrassing.

So get your resume together and send it to Camden Yards.

They’re still looking for a GM.
