Medical Examiner: Md. Yoga Shop Victim Alive During Attack

ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) -- Closing arguments are set to begin in the trial of a woman charged with killing a co-worker inside a Maryland yoga clothing shop.

The jury will hear from lawyers Wednesday afternoon and then start deliberating the fate of Brittany Norwood. Norwood is charged with first-degree murder in the March 11 death of Jayna Murray inside the Lululemon Athletica shop in Bethesda.

Medical examiner Mary Ripple was the prosecution's final witness. She testified that she identified at least 331 separate injuries on Murray's body. Ripple says Murray was alive for the duration of the attack, but she acknowledged under cross-examination that she couldn't say how long the attack took.

Norwood's lawyer says his client killed Murray but that it wasn't premeditated.

Murray's family left the courtroom before the medical examiner's testimony.
