Death Of Quadriplegic Man In Howard Co. Ruled A Homicide

ELLICOTT CITY, Md. (AP) -- Howard County police say the death of a 51-year-old quadriplegic man more than eight months ago has been ruled a homicide.

Police say they found Kevin Patrick Molony dead in his home in the 4000-block of Chariots Flight Way in Ellicott City on Feb. 27.

Police said there were no obvious signs of trauma to Molony's body and an initial medical examination didn't reveal the cause of death.

Authorities say a final autopsy report this week shows that Molony died from an overdose of the prescription painkiller oxycodone. Police say they are investigating who could have given Molony the medication.

Police say Molony was being cared for at his home by family members and nurses.

Molony has been paralyzed since a 2007 car accident.
