Matt Birk Interview

The offensive line has been under the microscope all season, especially with Andre Gurode filling in for the injured Ben Grubbs at left guard, Bryant McKinnie playing his first year for the Ravens at left tackle, Matt Birk with a suspect knee (although he's been great) and Michael Oher returning to right tackle. The only bright spot on the O Line, aside from Birk being a strong presence at center, is Marshal Yanda, who signed a five-year contract extension at the beginning of the season.

Birk, the Harvard grad and veteran on the line, took some time to chat with me before heading into Pittsburgh where the Ravens came out with an impressive and dramatic 23-20 win. Birk talks about the job Gurode did, the absence of Ben Grubbs and the criticism Joe Flacco is still taking in his fourth year in the NFL.
