FREDERICK, Md. (AP) — Celebrity chef Bryan Voltaggio says he’s opening a second restaurant in downtown Frederick.

Voltaggio and business partner Hilda Staples told The Frederick News-Post on Tuesday that they aim to open a casual eatery called Lunchbox by Dec. 3 on the pedestrian walkway along Carroll Creek. The menu will feature sandwiches, soups, salads and desserts.

The partners say they plan to stop serving weekday lunch at their flagship restaurant, Volt, in January. It will be open for dinner Tuesday through Friday, and for both lunch and dinner on Saturdays and Sundays.

Staples says they are considering opening restaurants at two other Frederick locations and another in Chevy Chase.

I had heard the chef wants to open up a steak house called Indigma. Someone should pass along to him that there is already a restaurant in Baltimore called Indigma. It is in the historic neighborhood of Mt Vernon and it serves upscale Indian cuisine. It has been there for several years now.
